Gatley Music Festival is a not-for-profit organisation bringing high quality live music to the village of Gatley in Cheshire, whilst raising money for local charities.We present a week of live music every year in the month of March with something for every age and taste including classical, Jazz, brass, choral and the very best of local indie, acoustic and rock artists.

18/04/2008 - I finally got around to putting some pictures from this years festival on the picture page. There are selected pics of Turtlegrin,Stu Baggulay,Cerca Nova, Ian Ewing,Chris Brown and the Sleeves.Enjoy!

06/04/2008 - That's the Gatley Music Festival for another year, There is a review up on the past events page and i will add some of this years photos when i have a minute.

Your efforts raised a £1,000 for our charity so thank you very much for all your support and a big thank you to the venues and the artists that performed!

15/03/2008 - Tonight is the last night of our festival and we would like to thank everyone who has attended, played or donated. Tonights event is the Alteri Choir at St James Church which starts at 7.30pm and is £8 entry. The Jazz concert at the Cheadle Cricket club has i'm afraid been cancelled.

14/03/2008 - Tonight a regular visitor to the Gatley Musc Festival Returns! The wonderful Tintwistle Brass Band will arrive to entertain the people of Gatley, It's at Elm Road church and starts at 8.00pm. And if you haven't got a ticket yet you can pay on the door! it's £7 and it's well worth it.

12/03/2008 - After a night off last night.We're back tonight with the Quarttuor Deconet Quartet to entertain the people of Gatley, It's at the Yeshurun synagogue on Coniston Road it starts at 7.30pm. And if you haven't got a ticket yet you can pay on the door! it's £8.

12/03/2008 - An excellent crowd and some outstanding performances from our local schools made last nights schools concert a great success, Thanks once again to Sylvia who puts together this event and Darren Wood from Kingsway School without whom this event would never take place. 

11/03/2008 - Tonight see's the hugely popular schools concert at Kingsway upper school on Foxland Road, See the very best of the young talent from Gatley and Cheadle schools in the excellent surroundings of Kingsway.

10/03/2008 - We have a very special event fo you tonight. The Gemini Ensemble will be playing at St James Church at 7.30pm. The programme will include the world premier of a piece written to celebrate 20 years of Music at St James called "journey to Mars" a highly recomended event and if you haven't already got a ticket you can pay on the door - £8.

09/03/2008 - A huge thank you to Ian Ewing and Chris Brown who put on fantastic night tonight in the Prince of Wales. Ian ended up playing for nearly 3 hours of everythnig from Folk,Country and Rock n Roll and everyone had a great time. A big thanks to Pete and Laura of the Prince of Wales for there support and help with this event.If you missed it you missed out.

08/03/2008 - Last night went really well despite a few hic-ups, Thanks to all the acts and everyone who turned out for the gig and thanks to the Farrier for hosting us.

Tonight get yourself down to the Gateway pub on Kingsway as we have a duo performing reggea covers! Come and Dance, Dance, Dance.

07/03/2008 - Tonight is our first event so why not join us in the Horse and Farrier for live acoustic music performed by Turtlegrin,Danny Saul Destroyer,Lisa Marie Glover and Cerca Trova. The Farrier also has a beer festival on at the moment so you can enjoy a nice pint of real ale as well.

03/03/2008 - ANOTHER CANCELLED EVENT!!!!-The concert on Thursday 6th March has had to be cancelled because of an issue that has nothing to do with the Band THE SLEEVES who were more than willing and able to play.But unfortunately the concert can't go ahead,Thanks to the Sleeves for there understanding and we hope to see them again soon.

29/02/2008 - URGENT!!! The concert on the evening of Weds 12th March at St James Church featuring 2 of a Kind has been cancelled due to ill health. We are trying to replace this event so watch this space

21/02/2008 - Hopefully you have had a leaflet delivered through your door over the last few weeks and it may even be why you have visited the website. Just to let you know there are a few minor mistakes on the leaflet - THE CHILDRENS CONCERT ON SUNDAY 9TH IS AT ST JAMES CHURCH NOT ELM ROAD AND STARTS AT 2.30PM - THE BRASS BAND CONCERT STARTS AT 8.00PM NOT 7.30PM - THE ALTERI CHOIR STARTS AT 7.30PM NOT 8.00PM. All other details are correct.

15/02/2008 - All events are now confirmed and details are on our 2008 events page, Please try to attend an event from this years festival and help raise money for our 2008 charity which is Inscape House in Cheadle, which provides special schools and a specialist Centre for children and young people with autistic spectrum disorders.Tickets for all charged events are available from A&I Supplies in Gatley or Ian Ewing on 0161 428 4139 or you can pay at the door!

03/01/2008 - A Happy New Year to everyone! I have added the dates and events for the 2008 festival to the 2008 events tab. There is a one page outline of all events plus each event will have it's own page this year which we will fill in as more details are avalable.

25/10/2007 - Last night was the final of battle of the bands and the winners were The Sleeves! who walk away with £500. A big thank you to the other finalists Low Risers and Strategic Intent. All three bands were fantastic and we had a really good crowd in so thanls to everyone who attended.

19/10/2007 - The third and final heat of Battle of the bands was last night in the Gateway and the winners were Strategic Intent! Many thanks to Green Underline and The Change of State for taking part and making it a good evening with a great crowd. NEXT WEEK. THURSDAY 25TH OCTOBER IS THE BATTLE OF THE BAND FINAL AT THE GATEWAY PUB, BE THERE!!!!!!!!

12/10/2007 - It was the second heat of Battle of the bands last night and the deserved winners were The Sleeves, Thanks to the other bands,Stereo Horizon and A fortune never told! who made it a great night of live music. Next week is the last heat so if you can get down it's not to be missed.

05/10/2007 - The low risers won the first heat of the battle of the bands. Many thanks to Geekgirl and The Afterglories for taking part and giving us a real competition. All the bands were great and there was a really good atmosphere in the Gateway, Come down next Thursday 11th October and catch heat two.

14/09/2007 - We are helping out with a battle of the bands competition which will be at the Gateway Pub every Thursday in October. Come down and see some great up and coming local bands and you get to vote for your favourite!

22/07/2007 - I have added 3 songs from the 2007 festival to the main player and the music page, they were all recorded at the Gateway Pub during the indie night.

14/07/2007 - I have added some pics of the Horse and Farrier gig to the Photo Page and added a music player to this front page so you can listen to highlights of some of our previous concerts whilst you browse the site.

12/07/2007 - Provisional dates for Gatley Music Festival 2008 are 6th March to 16th March, Keep your diaries empty, more details to follow.

07/07/2007 - I have finally got round to giving the site a lick of paint and a colour change, I will shortly add some new music and the dates for 2008.

30/06/2007 - As part of Gatley Festival 2007 we are hosting an acoustic night in the Horse and Farrier tonight 6 acoustic acts. Free entry.

22/03/2007 - I have added a few more pics onto the photo page, look out for a video once we've figured out how to edit it and we will be presenting a cheque tomorrow to Francis house Childrens Hospice for £1,000 thanks to everyone who help raise this money. Thats You!

10/03.2007 - Thats it for this year. I would like to thank all the venues, our sponsers, all the artists who performed and everyone who attended any of our concerts or bought a raffle ticket. After a number of cancelled concerts,small audiences for some of the events and other issues it's been a tough one this year. if anyone has any suggestions or ideas for 2008 please leave a comment on the Leave us a message page, Otherwise it's goodbye for now, probably see you next year.Some pics of 2007 and will appear soon on the photo galleries tab.

09/03/2007 - A great night tonight in the Horse and Farrier the band were a little quiet but went done very well, the customers in the Farrier were very generous around our raffle and Mark and Sharon were very supportive. Thanks to everyone!

09/03/2007 - Tonight is a double header with The Aylwin String Quartet at St James Church and An irish night at the Horse and Farrier, Come early to get a seat.

08/03/2007 - If you are going to get to a festival event this year you are running short of time tonights event is the fantastic Poynton Male Voice choir performing at Elm Road Church, the performance starts at 7pm and entry is £7.

07/03/2007- Tonight is one of our most popular concerts. The Schools concert which is at Kingsway School on Foxland Road is an evening of great and varied entertainment from Gatley and Cheadle schools. its starts at 7pm and if you are attending you can order a CD of the evening to treasure. If you can't make the concert you can still order the CD via this website.

05/03/2007 - Tonights concert is at Elm Road Church where The Lymm Concert band will no doubt raise the roof with a mix of Brass and Woodwind. What else is there to do on a Monday Night?

05/03/2007 - Last night in the Prince of Wales was fantastic, Great artists, Great atmosphere and a good responce from the customers to raffle tickets. Thank you one and All!

04/03/2007 - Tonight we are at the Prince of wales pub with 5 acoustic acts Stokesy will kick things off around 8.30 and then we have in order of appearence Tacey Browne, Garron Frith, Picnic Area and finally Warren Gaskell with his full band will be headlining

03/03/2007 - Anyone who was at last years events will know that Astroband were one of the highlights and they play for us again tonight at the Red Lion starts 8.30pm free entry. get down and see one of the best local bands around!

03/03/2007 - The festival started last night at the gateway pub It was a great night although we did have some technical difficulties the bands were great a big thanks to Tramps and Horses, Colours Run, Youth Honey and Voodoo Doll for playing.

03/03/2007 - Gatley Music Festival is on Channel M Tonight, myself and Giles are being interviewed in the Gateway Pub, it's on the news at 5pm and repeated at 9pm.

06/02/2007 - As all of our contempary events are FREE we are holding a prize raffle in order to raise money for Francis House. If you can't get to any of our events but would still like to buy raffle tickets and help out a good cause you can do it through the "Get tickets online" page

17/01/2007 - Many of our events are free to attend but if you are coming ot one of our ticketed concerts you can now order your tickets online - Just go to the Get Tickets Tab.

16/01/2007 - The events page has been updated and as most of our events are now confirmed i have also updated the Venues/Directions tab and added a page for each of our 9 Venues with Address, details of the events, and directions.Just click on the Venues/Directions tab and click the venue you require.

13/04/2006 - We have decided that next years festival will be to raise money for Francis house in Didsbury. See the links page for further details of this very important charity.

31/03/2006 - We have now presented 2 cheques. Each for £1,000, one to St Ann's Hospice and one to Christies Hospital you can see pics of the Christies presentation on the photos page.Hopefully we will have St Anns pics up soon.

19/03/2006 - Great night in the Red Lion last Night, despite some rugby induced delays and one of the bands having to pull out we had 3 great bands who entertained a large crowd, the highlight was our very own Astroband who played a blindin' set. A huge thank you to all the Artists who have appeared this year and to everyone who has attended events.We have a some pics from the last few days events up on the picture page.

18/03/2006 -Your very last chance to support the Gatley Music Festival as The Red Lion Presents – Rock / Indie Night with local upcoming rock band The Uzi 2’s. The wonderfully upbeat melodic rock of Sheldon from Merseyside. And the multi-influenced rock / blues of Gatley’s very own Astroband. Free entry. Starts - 7.00pm.

If you don't fancy that there is Hot pot supper and jazz featuring The Harlem Hot Stompers in an Evening of traditional jazz and hot pot at Gatley Golf Club Tickets £10 available from the golf club steward.

17/03/2006 - TWO GREAT EVENTS TONIGHT: The Beerhouse Boys (featuring Keith Elliot formerly of the Karl Denver trio) will be playing covers and sing-a-long hits at the Horse and Farrier tonight. Free entry. Starts 8pm (Pub open until 1am, last entry 11.00pm) and also the magnificent Tintwistle Prize Brass Band a concert of typical Brass Band Music played by one of the most highly respected bands in the area - In the church at Elm Road. Starts 8pm. £7
